Chill out and enjoy a moment of silence (#3 Bokke trail)

Sometime not only walk at the Bokke trail but..?

The Bokke Trail is one of the best walking trails in the Lake Akan area.

And this is also the place where Kamuy Lumina is held, with many people walking the trail throughout the day.


However, this time, we dare not introduce it as a "walking spot" but as a "place to chill out"!


The Bokke Trail has two entrances. If you enter from the Lake Akan sightseeing cruise boarding area side, you will see an expanse of grassy lawn right after you walk in.

Benches are set up on the lawn where you can sit and have a leisurely lunch or just close your eyes and enjoy the sounds of nature!

It is also recommended to take a deep breath here, because Lake Akan has the highest concentration of oxygen in Japan, and you can expect a refreshing effect from deep breathing!

If you don't mind getting your clothes dirty, lying on the grass is very comfortable!

Especially on days when the sun is strong, it just warms you up.

Sometimes it is good to sleep while being surrounded by the comfortable nature environment!

However, be careful of "Ezo deer feces" when lying on the lawn!

Here is a resting place not only for human beings but also for Ezo squirrels and Ezo deer, so please be careful not to step on their "stuff"!

During the peak season of autumn red leaves, the landscape is transformed into a reddish hue.

Sometimes you can see locals having a picnic while viewing the autumn leaves.

When you see beautiful autumn leaves, you are always excited and want to take them home with you.

It is a very good time to spend a little moment while feeling the sounds of nature and the wind, and to just concentrate on looking for your “best leaves”.

Unlike Honshu (Mainland Japan), the colors of autumn leaves in Hokkaido are a mixture of many different colors such as red, orange, and yellow.

Before leaving the Lake Akan area, it might be fun to collect leaves of all colors as a souvenir for your trip!


We have introduced the Bokke Trail several times before, but this time we dared to recommend a "non-walking" way to enjoy the trail!

The sounds, smells, and sceneries of nature can be experienced with all five senses, and this is the "premium time" that only Lake Akan Onsen can offer.
