Enjoy the view of the lake Akan from the observatory

Today, we are introducing "Akankohan Observatory", which is only open during green season as the place is ski slope during winter time.
You reach close to the spot by car, so even if you are not physically confident to go up, you can still enjoy dramatic scenary from the hill.

It is about 3 minutes away from the town by car and 30 minutes by walking. You will hear the sound of nature clearly at this obsevrvatory.
Listen close to the sound of birds humming and the wind blowing through the woods.
You will be amazed by the dramatic scenary of the lake Akan and Mt.Oakan.

This observatory turns into ski slope during the winter time. You will see lake gradually frozing at the beginning of svere cold winter in Lake Akan.
It is interesting to see dramatic change in nature depending on different seasons.
Why not go up to the hill and chill out from the top during this beautiful season of the year.

■Where can I buy tickets? How is the opening time?

Tickets are available at the official website, hotels around Lake Akan, "Kamuy Lumina" Ticket Booth, and designated travel agencies.



Fees: Adults (junior high school students and older) 3000 yen / 3500 yen
　　　
Child (elementary school student) 1500 yen / 1700 yen
　
*Preschool children or below are free of charge.

Starting time changes depending on the sunset time. So be sure to check when planning your trip!
